Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your first name and email address. A vendor account also carries the business profile you complete after signing in: business name, category (NAICS), city and state, and the contact details you choose to publish.

Inquiries and saves. When you contact a business through the platform we store the message you send, and when you save a business we store that save against your account so you can find it again.

Searches. Search terms and places are used to answer the search and to show vendors, in aggregate, what the community is looking for. They are not tied to your name unless you are signed in and choose to save an alert.

Location. If you allow it, your browser's location is used only to sort results nearest to you. It is not stored on our servers.

Technical data. Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and operation of the service.

The public directory

The directory lists Black-owned businesses compiled from public records and from businesses that list themselves. A business's name, category, city and state are public by nature. Owners can claim a listing, correct it, or ask for it to be removed by contacting us.

How we use it

• To run the service: sign you in, show your saves and inquiries, and deliver messages between buyers and vendors.
• To send transactional email: account confirmation, password reset, inquiry notifications and receipts. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• To improve the directory: aggregate search counts show which categories and places are in demand.
• To keep the service safe: preventing abuse, fraud and unauthorized access.

We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

• Zoho Catalyst hosts the application, its database and user authentication.
• Zoho ZeptoMail delivers transactional email on our behalf.
• Zoho Billing processes subscription payments (see Payments).
• MapTiler and OpenStreetMap provide map tiles; a map request carries your IP address to them like any web request.

Each provider processes data only to provide its service to us and under its own privacy terms.

Payments

Paid vendor plans are billed through Zoho Billing. Card details are entered on and stored by the payment processor, never on BLKB2B servers. We receive confirmation of payment status, the plan purchased, and the billing contact needed to service the subscription.

Referral program

Affiliates receive a referral code. When someone joins using that code we record the association so the referral can be credited. Earnings depend on participation and program terms; BLKB2B does not guarantee any specific income. Program terms are in the Terms & Conditions.

Cookies and storage

We use the session cookie our authentication provider sets to keep you signed in, and browser storage for conveniences such as remembering that you have seen the intro or your last search on this device. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Your choices

• You can view and update your account details from your account page.
• You can ask us to delete your account and the data tied to it.
• A business owner can claim, correct or remove a directory listing.
• You can withdraw location permission in your browser at any time.
