1790 to today. Black and White on one axis, with every law, government action and event marked where it happened. Every law links to its text or record.

How this is worked out
Each marker has an anchor year. The readout takes the first observation at or after that year and the first at or after the anchor plus the window, and names both years. Nothing is interpolated.
Differential is the Black change minus the White change, signed so negative means worse for us. It is computed from the source table, never typed.
Textual: the law's own text names us or our rights. Attributed: a study or official finding links it to the effect. Observed: the two lines moved after the marker, and that alone proves no cause. A national line can look fine while a study shows the harm in one place, so both are shown and labeled.
Government actions: Official means a government report, court finding, settlement or apology. Documented means journalism or research with at most partial acknowledgment. Alleged claims stay off this page until a record turns up.
